The Mr. & Mrs. George W. Finnup Scholarship Fund of the Community Congregational Church is one of the three Class A beneficiaries of the Finnup Foundation. The annual income distributions to the Finnup Scholarship Fund from the Finnup Foundation are to be used as grants for tuition and books for student members of the Community Congregational Church to attend the Garden City Community College, Washburn University or such other Kansas or out-of-state college or university of the student's choice.  

The scholarship committee selects students based on financial needs, scholastic achievements, or a combination of both. Scholarship grants may also be used for scholarships and/or financial assistance for those attending church related functions, and scholarships may also be made available for students wishing to attend a theological seminary to pursue a career in ministry.    

Historically, the Congregational Church has had education as one of its principal missions.  The scholarship fund is a mission that stands in the Congregational heritage and tradition.

Please Note:  Applications for the Fall semester must be submitted by June 1, Spring semester by November 15, and summer school by April 1
